Today next photos from the inside of the castle in Niedzica. In the first one, you can see several trophies of local hunters:) We prefer these animals before taxidermy...
In the second photo there is the knight in his chamber. We strongly believe that it is just the exhibit and he did not have a chance to meet any taxidermist:)

Today we post the last set of photos from the festival 'Children of Mountains'. In the photos you can see the ensemble 'Al Izhar Pondok Labu' from Jakarta, Indonesia.
We were delighted by the performance. It was full of emotions, colours and hypnotic music.

Niedzica Castle [2]

Today two photos from the inside of the castle in Niedzica. People can visit the castle (tickets are quite cheap - about 2 Euros - 9 Zlotys). Moreover, one part of the castle (you can see it on the right side of the first photo) is a hotel (we do not know the prices:))
The second photo presents the view from one of the terraces.
The castle is full of interesting chambers with many exhibits. We will post them in successive days:)

Niedzica Castle

Today we want to show you the castle in Niedzica - the village situated about 60 km in west-south direction from Nowy Sacz.
The Niedzica Castle was built in the 14th century (more about the history of this place you can find here). The castle is situated on Czorsztyn Lake (there is the dam on the Dunajec River just near the castle).
We will present you some other photos from this place in the nearest future.

Children of Mountains [Latvia]

The performance of the children from Latvia was the main attraction of the second day of the 'Children of Mountains'. We enjoyed this show - it was full of passion and joy:)
The ensemble of 'Zelta sietiņš' came from Riga. It is the largest children's folk group in Latvia which was established in 1958. The name of the ensemble means 'the Gold Strainer' ("Złote Sitko").

Children of Mountains [Bosnia and Herzegovina]

'Children of Mountains' is the annual international festival of children's folk ensembles in Nowy Sacz. In this year our town hosts children from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Slovenia, Romania, Slovakia and Indonesia. More about the festival you can read here.
Children present cuture of their countries by singing, folk-dancing and national clothes.
The festival has started on Sunday and will go on the whole week. Every day people can admire performances of the children from particular country and their mates from Polish ensembles.
Today we present you photos from the yesterday's show. You can see the children from the ensemble 'Lola' from Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Fair of the St. Margaret [2]

Some of you wanted to see more photos from the yesterday's fair - here you are:)
Apart from the various stalls, people dressed up in medieval clothes attracted the attention of visitors.
Everyone could buy even the knight's helmets.
People could also admire few birds of prey. This is one of them.

Fair of the St. Margaret

Yesterday and today, a medieval fair took place near the church of the St. Margaret.
In the first photo you can see a girl who is making clay pots and vases (pottery).
In the second photo there is one of many stalls.
In the third picture you can see famous mountainous smoked cheeses ('oscypki').
There were also medieval knights and, as you can see, they fought for dear life:)

We are again in the Little Galician Town. Today we present you the replica of the manor house from the XIX century from Łososina Dolna.

In this building there is a specialist library. It contains collection of books and magazines about history, history of art, archeology and about the region of Nowy Sacz.

The Little Galician Town [1]

Today we post a photo from the Little Galician Town. It is situated on Lwowska Street, about 3 km from the center of Nowy Sacz.

The Little Galician Town is one of the projects of Nowy Sacz's museum. The project is a reconstruction of a small Galician town. It is not finished yet, more information about this you can find here where you can also see how it will look like.

In today's photo there is the Galician townhall. We will show you other buildings from this place soon:)

Masonic sign

Today we present you the masonic sign. During one of our walk through the town we noticed that many buildings in Nowy Sacz have such symbols on their facades.
This sign was found on the yellow tenement on Narutowicza street - just behind the St. Casimir church (the whole building you can see here).
If you enlarge the photo you can see that there is the image of Saint Mary on one of the glasses- strange composition with masonic symbol:)
