Today next photos from the inside of the castle in Niedzica. In the first one, you can see several trophies of local hunters:) We prefer these animals before taxidermy... In the second photo there is the knight in his chamber. We strongly believe that it is just the exhibit and he did not have a chance to meet any taxidermist:)
Today we post the last set of photos from the festival 'Children of Mountains'. In the photos you can see the ensemble 'Al Izhar Pondok Labu' from Jakarta, Indonesia. We were delighted by the performance. It was full of emotions, colours and hypnotic music.
Today two photos from the inside of the castle in Niedzica. People can visit the castle (tickets are quite cheap - about 2 Euros - 9 Zlotys). Moreover, one part of the castle (you can see it on the right side of the first photo) is a hotel (we do not know the prices:))
The second photo presents the view from one of the terraces.
The castle is full of interesting chambers with many exhibits. We will post them in successive days:)
Today we want to show you the castle in Niedzica - the village situated about 60 km in west-south direction from Nowy Sacz.
The Niedzica Castle was built in the 14th century (more about the history of this place you can find here). The castle is situated on Czorsztyn Lake (there is the dam on the Dunajec River just near the castle).
We will present you some other photos from this place in the nearest future.
'Children of Mountains' is the annual international festival of children's folk ensembles in Nowy Sacz. In this year our town hosts children from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Slovenia, Romania, Slovakia and Indonesia. More about the festival you can read here.
Children present cuture of their countries by singing, folk-dancing and national clothes.
The festival has started on Sunday and will go on the whole week. Every day people can admire performances of the children from particular country and their mates from Polish ensembles.
Today we present you photos from the yesterday's show. You can see the children from the ensemble 'Lola' from Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Yesterday and today, a medieval fair took place near the church of the St. Margaret. In the first photo you can see a girl who is making clay pots and vases (pottery).
In the second photo there is one of many stalls. In the third picture you can see famous mountainous smoked cheeses ('oscypki'). There were also medieval knights and, as you can see, they fought for dear life:)
Today we post a photo from the Little Galician Town. It is situated on Lwowska Street, about 3 km from the center of Nowy Sacz.
The Little Galician Town is one of the projects of Nowy Sacz's museum. The project is a reconstruction of a small Galician town. It is not finished yet, more information about this you can find here where you can also see how it will look like.
In today's photo there is the Galician townhall. We will show you other buildings from this place soon:)
We would like to share with you our best photos of Nowy Sacz and its neighborhood. Our town is not large (about 85,000 inhabitants; located in the south of Poland) but there is a lot of places which are worth to see.
We hope you will enjoy Nowy Sacz!
