Snowy Railway Tracks

After few days of snowing beautiful weather has come. We have now lovely sunny days but still there is a lot of snow.

Colourful hand

Yesterday we presented the coat of arms of Nowy Sacz. Today we would like to show you the commercial sign of Nowy Sacz. It is placed on gadgets which should advertise our town (for example T-shirts, ballpens, cups etc.) and as you can see - also on bus:)

The white mark in the middle of the hand is a symbol of the townhall. The shape of the hand was chosen because the town square and surrounding streets have similar shape from the air (on aerial photos).

There was a huge discussion about this sign in Nowy Sacz. One catholic association stated that the sign is inspired by satanic movements and demanded from the local authorities to withdraw this project. Finally, the sign is in use. We are curious if you like it.

The last turn before the spring

We hardly believe that after this turn there's the final straight to the spring. Dear winter - see you in December, spring - stay with us!:)

The old and the new

Today's weather was awful. Really gloomy and gray time. This is why we tried to take a photo which is full of dynamism. In the Nowy Sacz's railway station the old and the new have met.
The old is the type of train which you can see in Poland frequently. This one shuttles from Cracow to Krynica. The new one is modern Rapid Municipal Train from Warsaw ('Szybka Kolej Miejska'). Probably this modern train will be repaired here because Rapid Municipal Train (SKM) is a client of Nowy Sacz's company 'NEWAG' (it produces, repairs and modernizes trains).
