Snowy Railway Tracks

After few days of snowing beautiful weather has come. We have now lovely sunny days but still there is a lot of snow.

Crazy Weather

The weather today was really crazy. It was snowing but after a while the sun was shining. The weather is making fun of us. Well, we have today April Fool's Day - and the weather fits this day perfectly. It looks like the weather wants to say: 'You have already spring' but after a few minutes changes her mind and says: 'No, it is still winter'. Maybe tomorrow the weather will be more generous.

Going to the work... for over 100 years

Historically, Nowy Sacz is a town of railway. According to this fact, a monument of railwayman appeared last year in the front of Nowy Sacz's Railway Station.The monument symbolizes the hard work of railway's workers.

Our railway station is in a bad condition, but fortunatelly it is going to be fully renovated this year.

Footbridge

The photo was taken in the Kolejowa Street (Railway Street). You can see the building situated near the railway station and the footbridge above railwaytracks.

Do you remember Żeglarka stream? Just next to it, there is a charming old railway track.

Malicious Winter

Dear friends, you were right. No more than yesterday we wrote that there is no winter in Nowy Sacz and we have beaufitul weather. And today... As you can see... The winter came. Dear winter, if you read this, please, you should know that you are extremely malicious creature:)

The Tatra Mountains

Sometimes... when the clarity of the air is very good... you can see from Nowy Sacz the Tatra Mountains! In today's photo the clarity is not very good, but it is good enough to see the mountains (it means that sometimes the Tatras can be seen even more clearly).
The distance between Nowy Sacz and the Tatras is about 50-60 kilometers.

Ohh, we almost forget, more noticeable elements of the photo are the railway bridge over the Dunajec River and the mentioned river:)

Green, green, green...

We promised you some time ago the spring photo from the banks of the Dunajec River. You can see how this place has changed during one month - the spring makes miracle:)

The last turn before the spring

We hardly believe that after this turn there's the final straight to the spring. Dear winter - see you in December, spring - stay with us!:)

According to our yesterday's promise we want to show you the railway bridge over the Dunajec River.

March Theme Day: Glass - railway stained glasses

According to our yesterday's promise, there are railway details in today's photos. You can see fragments of stained glasses which are in the main nave, near altar. Do you know any other church in the world where you can see choo choo and waggons in the stained glasses?:)

The 'Railway Church' inside

This is the interior of the 'Railway Church'. The photos were taken in weekday. Some of the churches in Nowy Sacz are opened all day long. You can go there and pray every time you want.
Tomorrow, we will post interesting and 'very railway' details from this church:) So see you tomorrow!:)

The railway plough

During the winter not only roads and pavements should be plowed but also the railway track. In today's photo there is a railway plough which removes the snow from the track near to the Nowy Sacz's railway station. In our opinion this machine looks better than common widcats:)

The church of railwaymen

This church was built in 1899 in the new district of Nowy Sacz. The development of this part of the town was connected with the popularization of the railway in our region. Mainly railwaymen with their families lived in this district of Nowy Sacz. This church was built for this community, this is why it is called 'Railway Church'.Not far away from the church there is also the railway station and the company which produces and repairs trains.
