The railway plough

During the winter not only roads and pavements should be plowed but also the railway track. In today's photo there is a railway plough which removes the snow from the track near to the Nowy Sacz's railway station. In our opinion this machine looks better than common widcats:)

It is a neat machine to be sure. I had not seen one before today. Ages ago when I was a small boy, a train went beside our house. In those days of steam engines, they also had what was called a "cow catcher" in front and originally was to knock things off the track so the engine was not derailed. Anyway, that was also a help to plow through the snow in winter.

Winter is still going very strong in your part of the world! Very nice photo.

Thank you very much for the award!

They look powerful. Wouldn't want to be facing the wrong end when it started up. Looks a little chilly there, too.

You're obviously well prepared for snow. Sturdy machines!

Looks like it doesn't have too much to do at the moment but - like Lindab says - being prepared is key.
