The church of railwaymen

This church was built in 1899 in the new district of Nowy Sacz. The development of this part of the town was connected with the popularization of the railway in our region. Mainly railwaymen with their families lived in this district of Nowy Sacz. This church was built for this community, this is why it is called 'Railway Church'.Not far away from the church there is also the railway station and the company which produces and repairs trains.

Is it still a railway town?

Rather not, in fact railway company still is an important player on local labour market but now there are also other branches in Nowy Sacz. So railway is still important but it seems that not enough to described Nowy Sacz as "railway town"

I love old Churches...Thank you for visiting my blog. Forks is just about 3,000 people, very few buildings and none as great as your town has. Forks is mostly woods.

The Malopolian Culture Center building and Jagiellonska Street is very cool. I would love to walk and shop on that street. I will have to look up your area on the web. It's beautiful!

I think your country and I have some connection. My Mom used to work for the Indian Railways! :-)
