We come back after a long time without blogging:)

The spring is a great time for cycling. This weekend we visited Stary Sacz which is situated near our town.

This is the view from the bridge on Dunajec River toward Stary Sacz. We will post some photos from Stary Sacz in next few days:)

WSB-NLU

This photo was taken inside of WSB-NLU (Wyzsza Szkola Biznesu - National Louis University). It is a private university. You can study here: Marketing and Management, Psychology, Political Science and Computer Science.

In the centre of one of buildings of this school there is a beautiful big tree (you can see it in the background). We will show it when it will start blooming:)

Goodbye to the winter

Today is the first day of the spring. By this photo we want to definitively say goodbye to the winter.

Half beautiful, half ugly...

... it is the best metafory concerning March this year:) After a cloudy days, full of dirty snow, there is the time for sun and growing grass:)

White ground, white tree

The winter is still in Nowy Sacz, even the tree became white:) The view from Roszkowice hill.

Unusual advertisement

This is the second part of the mural which we presented yesterday. It is the advertisement of one of the English schools. The inscription on the wall means: 'We are learning foreign languages, you too?'

Snowy perspective

Week ago it was quite warm and there was no snow. But few days ago the winter came again...

Illuminated

Nowy Sacz's Basilica in the evening. We love the way it is illuminated.

Bridge on Lviv Street

Yesterday we posted only the lion guarding the bridge. Now it is time to show the bridge:)

Noble

Four such noble lions guard the bridge on Lviv Street (Lwowska). On the shield which is kept by lions there is the crest of Nowy Sacz (Saint Margaret standing on defeated dragon).

Melting...

All the snow is melting now. We hope it is the sign that spring is coming:)

'White Convent'

Just near the church of Our Lady Immaculate there is the monastery called, by inhabitants of Nowy Sacz, 'the White Convent' (because of the white walls of the monastery). Nuns from this convent run school for girls and recently have opened cake shop (they are famous because of delicious cooking).

Among the whiteness

On narrow paths near river of Kamienica you can walk among clear whiteness... Really relaxing and calming:)

Winter still doesn't want to go away from Nowy Sacz.

Snow-covered

We are totally covered with snow. Yesterday it was snowing like crazy. In the photo there is Królowej Jadwigi Street. On the left, you can see road, on the right - there is a pavement (sidewalk). Everything is white!

Warning

Found on the building's wall on Nowy Sacz's town square. Are your towns and cities monitoried by cameras? In Nowy Sacz there is monitoring system in the center and on some of the main streets.

Concrete boxes

The view on the north-eastern part of Nowy Sacz from Roszkowice hill. The first row of high-rise blocks, it is so called 'Barskie II' housing estate. We show these buildings first time at this blog. The second row of high-rise blocks is 'Barskie' housing estate - a part of the town which we've already presented several times. In the photo there is also easily noticable church of Our Lady Immaculate. The building of the temple is dominating over this fragment of Nowy Sacz. From this perspective, it is incredible that in such concrete boxes live thousands of people.

New shopping centre

A new shopping centre in Nowy Sacz, located at Węgierska (Hungarian) Street. The name of the centre (Sandecja) is exactly the same like the name of the most popular Nowy Sacz's football club. Strange...

Cottage

On Jamnicka Street. As you can see - 30-40 years ago in this part of Nowy Sacz - there was a countryside. The cottage is probably one of the last relics of those days.

Nawojowska Street

Sports Hall

Nowy Sacz's sports hall is located on the bank of the Kamienica River. On the side wall there is probably the biggest billboard in the town. We've already posted the sports hall (actually its roof::)) on June last year.

WE ARE ONE YEAR OLD!:)

We started NowySaczDailyPhoto on January 28th, 2009. One year passed so quickly:) We had good and worse moments, but we believe that you may say that genarally we managed to lead this blog:)

The Beauty and the Beast are neighbours on Freedom Avenue ('Aleje Wolności') in Nowy Sacz.
It's a great example to show how the times of communism disfigured Polish towns and cities.

White January

Hello! The beginning of the year of 2010 is very snowy in Poland.
As you can see in the photo (banks of the Kamienica River) everything is white - it seems to look very nice, but makes some troubles as well:)
