Today we're moving from Kwiaton to Hanczowa - a village situated about 50 kilometers from Nowy Sacz.
This church was built in the second half of the 19th century and, similarly like the Kwiaton's one, is a great example of Lemkos culture. More information about this temple you can find in the last photo (click on it to enlarge).
Great images, it is really great to see the inside. Do you think there are still around (in Poland) people capable of building such architecture in wood? I mean the real craftsmen with skills and someone to draw a project in wood.
@Vogon Poet - we don't know - maybe there are people who can do it, we hope. @Jacob - yes, there is specific smell inside - some kind of mixture of the old wood and the holy water:) Thanks for all your comments, we are happy that you enjoy places we show you!
This architecture is just wonderful! I also opened the link to Lemkos, until not a for me completely unknown culture and population (and also found Andy Warhol(a))! Thanks! You always learn something from blogging! :-)
I love it...it looks like a wooden spaceship that just landed...does it smell of wood inside? In Canada many homes are built of cedar and they smell wondeful inside.
Inside and outside, these churches entirely made of wood are reaaly amazing. Thank you for all your visits and comments to Arradon DP, always appreciated. And sorry for not coming here as often as I might... I wish you a nice day!
We would like to share with you our best photos of Nowy Sacz and its neighborhood. Our town is not large (about 85,000 inhabitants; located in the south of Poland) but there is a lot of places which are worth to see.
We hope you will enjoy Nowy Sacz!

To widać. "Tutaj" się budowało zupełnie inaczej.
Aż nie wiem kiedy umieścić Św. Józefa na blogu, tak jakoś ubogo by wyglądał...
Gorgeous, gorgeous, beautiful, fantastic, places I would love to see and smell.
Nice! I like the wooden architecture. Looks like a masterpiece too me. Great capture.

Następna perełka:)
The architecture looks very similar to the other church, and equally beautiful! I find it so fascinating.
I followed your Lemkos link to know more about this culture and people. Andy Warhol was on the list of famous Lemkos — cool!
never seen a building like this one
These are so intriguing! I've never seen anything like it, but I probably said that before. Does it smell musty and churchy inside?

These structures are all so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Wow... really beautiful churches. I'm amazed by the great craftmanship.
I didn't know about Lemkos too, but it's good to learn about them now :)
