Primary School

This building - one of primary schools in Nowy Sacz is situated on the corner of Konarskiego Street and Dlugosza Street. One part of the facade has been already restored, renovation of the rest of the building is in progress:)

Konarskiego Street

This is one of the renovated buildings on Konarskiego Street, just near the Planty park. It looked like this before the renovation.

Convent in Stary Sacz

Today we present you another convent (Convent of Poor Clares), situated in Stary Sacz. It was founded by Saint Kinga in 1280.

Chestnut alley

This beautiful alley leads to the convent of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is called by inhabitants of Nowy Sacz 'the White Convent' because of its white walls.

We posted it several times - you can see photos of the monastery here and here.

Now it is hidden behind the gate (and you can enter it not all the time) but some years ago this alley was the short cut for people who went to a mass to the church of Our Lady Immaculate which is situated just near the monastery.

This alley is surounded by chestnut trees. When there was no gate people, especially children, came there and picked chestnuts in autumn.

100 years of Sandecja

Some days ago we celebrated the 100th anniversary of establishing Sandecja - the football team in Nowy Sacz. This flower ball was made for this occasion. It is situated in front of the Stadium.

Classic Cars Rally 2010 [2]

On last Sunday inhabitants of Nowy Sacz could admire old cars which were showed on the town square and in the The Little Galician Town.

We decided to present you the second part of the photos from the The Festival of the Children of Mountains. Today - the group from India. Their colourful dresses can light up rainy days:)

Today - swings and carousel:) Yesterday, when we were walking by these unique playground it was full of children and their parents:) We have never seen so many children in the Planty park. It seems that the wooden playground became very popular:)

When we were walking around the town we found something really interesting - the exhibition of big wooden playground in the Planty park:) This event is called A Malopolska Thing - grounds for cultural experience (Rzecz Małopolska - park doświadczeń kulturowych) organized by Ethnographic Museum from Krakow.

There are unique swings and carousel with funny wooden animals, wooden etno benches and amazing bushes - of course made from the wood. All these things were very interesting so we made a lot of photos which we will show you:)

As you can see in the last photo, the exhibition was fun not only for children but also for adults. We also took the opportunity and went to swing:)

Saint Roch

This is one of the churches in Nowy Sacz - church of Saint Roch. Just next to these sweet tiny building is the new, modern church.

The Festival of the Children of Mountains

The Festival of the Children of Mountains this year started July 18th and lasted to July 25th. Unfortunately we don't have enough time to watch shows but we participated in march-past through Lwowska Street toward the town square.

In the first photo you can see children from Bulgaria, in the second one - children coming from Romania.

Today we want to present you photos from the event which took place in Nowy Sacz last Saturday. July 15th was the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald. To celebrate this anniversary there were attractions like shows of knights' fight, show of medieval dress and music.
