The reflection

These buildings are situated in the centre of Nowy Sacz, on the Szwedzka Street (Swedish Street). It crosses the main street of the town - Jagiellonska Street. The name 'Swedish Street' reminds the Swedish invasion on Poland in the second half of the XVII century. Nowy Sacz was one of the towns which broke free from the Swedish rule at the earliest.

That's a lovely photo, I'm a great reflections fan so I like it all the better!

Nowy Sacz looks like a beautiful city, especially the historical centre, and your excellent photos give a precise idea of what it looks like!!

The contrast between old and new is striking!

Hi M_M,

Thanks for the comments, great photo - not dissimilar to mine in a way.

These days we always seem to have an opinion when similar things go on elsewhere on the globe. And right here is a bit of our own history.

As a tourist I'd appreciate finding a Swedish street but I guess it brings mixed feelings for you...
