Boulders

We are again in the 'Planty' Park. In the photo there are two boulders-monuments.
The bigger one commemorates the pilgrimage of Pope John Paul II to Nowy Sacz's region in 1999. On the smaller boulder you can read a text: 'Oak of Freedom 1918' ('Dąb Wolności 1918'). It seems to be that it is about the oak which you can see in this photo. The monument commemorates the restoration of Poland's independence in 1918.

I like this couple of boulders as monuments to a great man (and Pope) and to the day of the Independence of Poland. Maybe even the boulder dedicated to the Pope celebrates another Independence Day, almost seventy years after the first...

Very interesting monument made of stones and many flowers around!Beautiful indeed!
By the way,I had the opportunity to attend at a mass celebrated by the Pope John Paul II in 1980 here in Brazil! It was a special moment in my life!

I love rocks, so would like these monuments no matter what they had written on them.

This is a beautiful park!

I also attended a mass with JP II, but I was a baby back then (about 11 months in 1987). He is an important figure for all Chileans since he mediated in a possible war against Argentina, and there are several children of my generation named "Juan Pablo".

Probably that could be linked with my affection for Polish people and culture (although that came later in life, LOL).

Nice to have commemorative monuments that blend well in a natural setting. Lovely flowers too.

Bardzo ciekawa pamiątka po naszym papieżu:) W Bielsku Jego pielgrzymkę upamiętniono... oczywiście pomnikiem.
No i lokalizacja głazów bardzo ładna, jednak park w mieście to podstawa:)
Pozdrawiam!
