The Wooden Architecture Route [11] - Owczary

We are coming back to the Wooden Architecture Route. This is the church in Owczary. It was built in the 17th century.
When we were there the service took place. In May in Polish churches and near the roadside shrines people gather before the evening mass and sing litany to Saint Mary (Litania Loretanska).
In Owczary there were only few women and some children and they sang out of tune:)
More details about the church you can read in the photo above.

Przepiękny! Chciałabym kiedyś zrobić taką wyprawę szlakiem architektury drewnianej - Twoje zdjęcia coraz bardziej mnie do tego zachęcają :)

Great series, this one is wonderful. They sing litany to Saint Mary here too. It's called Mese Mariano (Month of Mary).

These are all super photos! I love the shot of the interior and the window in the next post!

Why is it, do you suppose, that only a few women and children show up?

@Jacob - maybe it is because Owczary it is a small village, moreover there live also people who are not Catholic .

This is my hometown. I was born in Nowy Sacz. My parents moved back in 1986 from Phila. I miss my hometown. I have to go back. Great jobs with these photos--just awesome. By the way, my mother's family were the caretakers of the Zamec before the war.
