Solidarity with Iran

Today, we post a monument of Solidarity (Solidarność) - the Polish anti-communist movement, which led to the collapse of the authoritarian regime in Poland in 1989.
The monument is situated near the Roundabout of Solidarity in Nowy Sacz.

We would like to express our support for people in Iran who fight for their political and human rights. We know that it is a battle for the future of Iran. In Poland - where we regained complete sovereignty and democracy just 20 years ago - we understand the aspirations of Iranian people very well.

A terrific example to post about, M-m. The two situations are so very similar. I hope that the outcomes are equally similar.

Thank you for your post. The world is watching.

Yes, you have just fought your own difficult battle for freedom so recently. Your expression of solidarity with Iran is so much more powerful because of it.

Well said. I've also used Solidarity as the title of my posts on this issue. I hope that by adding our voices we can raise awareness and let people know they are not forgotten by the rest of the world.

Very thoughtful and moving. I remember buring candles in the windows for Solidarity.

Beautiful post. I have read a lot about the history from your country and I find it heartwarming. We also had problems with both "sides", but we managed to get through it in some way.

Brilliant choice for your photograph. Let's hope the outcome will eventually be as it was in Poland and that our blogger is free, safe and sound.
