Market of Antiquities/ Targ Staroci

Yesterday and today we have in Nowy Sacz the first edition of the event called 'Market of Antiquities'. It takes place in the center of the town - on the Square of May 3rd (the second photo)...
... on the town square (the main and the third photos)...
... and on Jagiellonska Street (the fourth photo).
You can buy there old furniture, jewellery, dishes, books, postcards, magazines and everything else what you are able to find in those piles of the old stuff:)

The Tatra Mountains

Sometimes... when the clarity of the air is very good... you can see from Nowy Sacz the Tatra Mountains! In today's photo the clarity is not very good, but it is good enough to see the mountains (it means that sometimes the Tatras can be seen even more clearly).
The distance between Nowy Sacz and the Tatras is about 50-60 kilometers.

Below you can see a partial zoom of the photo:)

Ohh, we almost forget, more noticeable elements of the photo are the railway bridge over the Dunajec River and the mentioned river:)

On the slope

Some parts of the old town of Nowy Sacz are located on the slope. Thanks to this fact we have such nice views like this one which we present it to you today:)
The spires belong to the church of St. Margaret. There is also an interesting bell-tower (you can notice it in the photo). We will show it soon:)

The Wooden Architecture Route [9] - Ropica Gorna

We continue going through the Wooden Architecture Route. We present you an old Greek Catholic church from 18th century. It is now a Roman Catholic church. Unfortunately we were late and the church was locked so we weren't inside.
More information about this church you can read in the second photo.

The Wooden Architecture Route [8] - Petna

You have seen Nowy Sacz's townhall many times in our blog but today we present you some details of it:)

Topless

We found her on one of the tenements in Nowy Sacz's center. She was standing at the corner of Jagiellonska Street and Lwowska Street. When we will walk there next time we will check if she is still standing there:)

The Wooden Architecture Route [7] - Gladyszow

It seems to be that many of you like old and wooden churches:), so we're coming back on the Wooden Architecture Route!
In today's photo there is the Greek Catholic Parish Church in Gladyszow. It's not so old (built in 1938-39) like the temples which we posted in recent days, but it has very unusual shape and interesting colouring.
In the second photo you can find further information about it.

The Wooden Architecture Route [6] - Wolowiec

Today next two photos from Wolowiec. In the second photo you can see one of the gravestones from small and old cementary near the church.
Some of the tombstones are not in good condition. The inscriptions are written in the Cyryllic alphabet (Lemkos use it). It makes that sometimes you can feel there more like in Ukraine or Belarus than in Poland:)
