I was in Prague last month and I noticed similar things. Great shot. The tree in front of the contrasting buidings works well.
You made it extremely clear with this beautiful image of contrast. James is right,the tree adds perspective to this shot.

One wonders why people would build such truly ugly buildings whether Communist or not...
I prefer the non-commie building. Maybe the commie building should be torn down and another, more handsome building should take its place?
